HP-100
Whey Peptide Isolate Submit
A Question: Please
feel free to submit a question to any one of our experts. Q: I have been using your HP-100 for about 6 weeks now. Using it in conjunction with the Max-IT training program, I have made some great gains in increasing my muscle size. I have noticed though, that not only my muscles have grown, I have more energy and I don't catch colds or flu anymore, when all my family and friends around me do. Can you tell me about the other health benefits of using HP-100?A: Knowledge of nutrition is of increasing importance in the world today. The number of undernourished and the malnourished children and adults in the poorer countries is not diminishing as their populations grow. In richer countries, like Australia, obesity, diabetes, heart diseases and cancers assume more and more clinical importance and nutrition has major roles in their treatment and prevention. As more and more research is done, one factor seems to be emerging. The importance of protein in relation to achieving optimum health. Their importance lies in the fact that every cell in the body is composed of proteins which are subject to continuous wear and replacement. Carbohydrates and fats contain no nitrogen or sulphur, two essential elements in all proteins. Where as the fat in the body can be derived from dietary carbohydrates and the carbohydrates from proteins, the proteins of the body are inevitably dependent for their formation and maintenance on the proteins we consume. Proteins are a part of every function in our bodies, from producing hormones to keep us youthful looking to helping our liver produce enzymes to convert body fat into energy. Therefore it is logic to think protein should be a major part of our diets. Protein as a food source comes in many different forms, each having a unique make up providing specific factors. However, there is one type of protein that is emerging to be the champion of all proteins in regards to achieving optimum health - Fully Hydrolyzed Whey Peptide Isolate For a year or two now, this protein has been on the market, but until recently, it has only been used by elite athletes, sports people and movie actors to achieve better health and performance. Now with further research being released, more and more people are now learning about the health benefits of Fully Hydrolyzed Whey Peptide Isolated Protein. About ten years ago, Whey, which was originally discarded as a by-product in the production of cheese, was found to contain various health factors. Unfortunately when you consume whey protein, these health factors are lost through the digestion process. What if we could isolate the health factors and absorb them straight into our body? The health benefits would be enormous! This has now been achieved with the development of Fully Hydrolyzed Whey Peptide Isolated Protein. The Health Benefits:- Weight Loss Helps to increase Metabolism and supply enzymes for the utilization of converting fats into energy.
Aging & Life Extension Possesses Life Extension potential (it has caused a significant increase in longevity in mice studies).
Eyes/Vision Helps prevent Age-Related eye sight degradation and prevents Cataracts.
Immune System Helps to prevent various types of Bacterial & Viral Diseases: - A valuable treatment for Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome (AIDS)
- it significantly improves the function of the Immune System in AIDS
patients. Increases the body’s resistance to Detrimental Bacteria including: Helicobacter pylori Counteracts Cancer forming agents and causes the regression of tumors
in some Cancer patients: Enhances the function of the Immune System:
Metabolism Increases Basal Metabolic Rate (BMR) Possesses Antioxidant properties - Inhibits the ability of nutrients to generate Free Radicals (due to the Lactoferrin and Lactoperoxidase content of the Protein). Improves Athletic Performance.
Musculoskeletal System Facilitates Muscle Growth in conjunction with intense weight training. Sixteen times better than taking free Amino Acids and twice that of whole
food. Prevents and treats Osteoporosis (by activating Osteoblasts).
Nervous System Helps to alleviate Pain (the Tetrapeptides content of the Protein have Opioid-like activity).
Respiratory System Alleviates many of the symptoms of Chronic Obstructory Pulmonary
Disease
Skin Accelerates the healing of Wounds. As you can see, 100% Hydrolyzed Whey Peptide Isolate has a lot of health benefits and is not just for muscle building. For optimum health it should be a part of everbody's diet. Just remember, there are different grades of Hydrolyzed Whey Peptide Isolates, as there are many different types of proteins. Only HP-100 can claim to be the highest grade Fully Hydrolyzed Peptide Isolate in the world, providing you the best quality protein for maximum health benefits.
Back to TopQ: I see a lot of companies using wheat protein in their supplement formula’s. Is there any advantage with having wheat protein and how does it compare against whey protein?A: If you find a sports supplement with wheat protein in it, TAKE IT BACK! This has to be the scam of the century! We still cannot understand why some people still have it for breakfast! Let us give you a run down on ‘wheat protein’. Wheat protein is the isolation of the protein from wheat. There are 2 main complex proteins in wheat, Glutenin and Gliadin. These 2 proteins form what is commonly known as Gluten. Gliadin is a type of Prolamine. It is made up mostly of Proline with
some Glutamic Acid (as a component of the Glutamine molecule). Now here
is the problem! Even though Gliadin sounds like a good protein having
a glutamine component and a proline component , because of its complexity,
( the way the proteins are bound ), humans have trouble digesting it (
our digestive enzymes cannot break it down fully) and it also causes toxic
side effects which may be caused through the breakdown of the protein
by bacteria in our large intestine. ( Cows don’t have problems
digesting it. They have six stomachs!)
Toxic Effects of Gluten ( Wheat Protein ) are as follows; Digestive System Allergy to Gliadin is responsible for Celiac Disease that causes inflammation
and atrophy to the Villi and Intestinal Wall of the Jejunum of the Small
Intestine.
Immune System Gliadin is a common trigger for (Food) Allergies.: Allergic reactions to Gluten (as occurs in Celiac Disease) may result in Inflammation in the Brain that leads to Headaches.
Dermatitis patients in which Allergies are the underlying cause usually
exhibit elevated serum Gliadin levels. Wheat Protein is basically ‘flour’, a very cheap protein additive with little nutritional value and the possibility of some serious toxic side effects. Why would you take it as a supplement? You wouldn’t. So don’t believe the marketing crap of these companies that promote ‘wheat protein’ or companies that have ‘Wheat derivatives’ in their protein promoting ‘high in glutamine peptides’. It is all bullshit! Your digestive system cannot separate the glutamine from the gluten protein to be absorbed and become effective. Wheat Protein is a waste of time and a waste of money. Our advice: Avoid it at all costs! Back to TopQ: I hear other companies promoting they have hydrolyzed whey protein isolate that doesn't have a bitter taste. They say this uses the latest technology in protein manufacture to achieve this. Are these non bitter tasting hydrolyzed proteins just as good as HP-100A: We
also have heard some reps selling hydrolyzed protein, saying that their
protein is just as good as HP-100 without the bitter taste. Let us tell
you this is absolute bullshit! You cannot have a high quality, fully hydrolyzed
whey protein with no bitterness. It has all got to do with the moisture
within the protein stucture and the fact that by nature the 'bio-active'
peptides are bitter tasting. The higher the hydrolysis level, the less
moisture within the protein and the more seperated the bio-active peptides
will be. These are the direct building blocks for muscle, your immune
and hormonal system. The less moisture within the protein, the more bitter
taste it will have. We believe that other companies use a lower level
of hydrolysis in their protein to save on costs and make more profits,
however they can still promote their product as fully hydrolyzed protein.
There are also other methods companies might use to decrease the bitterness
of the hydrolyzed whey protein, like adding extra amino acids so that
the protein content remains high, but the 'bio-active' peptide content
is lowered. This lowers the effectiveness of the protein. It cannot be
really called fully hydrolyzed anymore, even though companies would promote
it as such. HP-100 has the highest hydrolyzed level for maximum muscle
building. Each serving provides more than 25g of isolated 'bio-active'
peptides. No other protein can boast this. All hydrolyzed proteins are
not the same. Back to TopQ: I am lactose intolerant and I am finding your HP-100 a perfect solution for a protein supplement when all other proteins cause me to have bloating in my stomach.( They must have lactose in them!) My question is, if lactose is a simple sugar, why do so many people have trouble digesting it? I don’t have problems with other sugars.A: Lactose is a disaccharide sugar, two simple sugar molecules bound together, much like table sugar. The reason why we have problems digesting it is because as we age we lose the ability to produce lactase, an enzyme that breaks down the lactose to a monosaccharide sugar so it can be absorbed into our body. Some people lose this enzyme a lot earlier than others. When we are born we possess ample amounts of the lactase enzyme to help us digest our mother’s milk. As our need for mothers milk declines, so does the enzyme. The other unfortunate thing about lactose, which has scientific backing, even if we were able to digest it properly, it has other negative traits. In particular, it tends to raise triglyceride levels, which in turn can lead to high cholesterol problems. As you said HP-100 is a perfect solution for a protein supplement, because
it is one of the few proteins on the market that are guaranteed lactose
FREE! Back to TopQ: Is HP-100 useful for people who do not lead active, athletic lifestyles?A: Without Question! Even people who are routinely sedentary can benefit from using HP-100. This is because HP-100 is not just your ordinary protein supplement, it's a growth factor extract. The 'bio-active' peptides in the HP-100 stimulate and provide factors for the body's 'somatic hormones', including insulin, thyroid, growth hormone and glucagon, whose principal functions are to direct the nutrient energy flow into various metabolic pathways. As we age our growth and immune factor levels diminish over time. HP-100 can restore these growth and immune factors to levels which will enable us to achieve optimum health.
Back to TopQ: When I got taught biology at school, we learned that for protein to be absorbed into our body it must be fully broken down into individual amino acids. If this is true, how can the peptides in the HP-100 be absorbed into the body. Even though the protein is fully hydrolyzed, doesn't the peptides still have to be broken down to the individual amino acids to be absorbed?A: Research
into protein science has come a long way very quickly and it seems text
books have been unable to keep up the emerging research. The same can
be said about research in regards to gene technology. It has been found
that proteins do not necessary have to be broken down into individual
amino acids to be absorbed into our body. How do we know this? Well, it
happened by accident, or we could say by illness. It has all to do with
a little protein found in wheat. It's called Gluten! What this means is that we can design and manufacture a protein, whose makeup consists of only isolated individual polypeptides, dipeptides and tripeptides, that enables it to be directly absorbed into the body. This can only be achieved through hydrolyzing a protein. The problem is that this protein may also still contain polypeptides that we are allergic to, or of no biological value. A more effective protein would be to have these unwanted peptides removed. To remove these we must subject the protein to extra processing, such as a NANO Technology process as used with HP-100 to isolate all of the bio-active peptides. This is what separates apart HP-100 from any other Hydrolyzed Proteins, Pure Isolated Growth & Immune Factors that can be directly absorbed into your body, for better health, growth and recovery. Back to TopQ: Can I use HP-100 as my sole source of protein?A: They
say variety is the spice of life and that goes for nutrition as well.We
do not recommend you use HP-100 as your sole source of protein unless
your have some sort of health problem in which your doctor has recommended
that HP-100 be your only source of protein. HP-100 has been designed as
a genuine protein supplement. Something that you take in conjunction with
your food. It has been designed to supply special benefits that can not
be obtained in sufficient amounts from intake of any other foods. Using
HP-100 frequently in conjunction with a healthy diet will not only enable
you to achieve your protein requirements, but it will also enable the nutrition
you have consumed to be more efficient in directly repairing and maintaining
your body, enabling you to recovery properly after exercise and also achieve
optimum health. The advantage of HP-100 over other protein sources is
also the speed at which it can enter your body. At specific times, like
just after finishing exercise, nutrition has to be fed at the fastest
possible rate to enable proper recovery and growth. Only HP-100 can achieve
this. Normal food and even other protein supplements are too slow in entering
the body. We recommend you take HP-100 at specific times during the day
in conjunction with a normal healthy diet. Back to TopQ: Why have a hydrolyzed protein over a normal isolate or concentrate?A: As we have said before, a high quality 100% hydrolyzed protein has had all the ‘bio-active’ peptides separated and isolated. This has been achieved using a NANO filtration process and passing the protein through the exact same enzyme process that happens in our digestive system to break down foods and supplement materials. Except, this process is all controlled. Therefore after consuming a protein like that of HP-100 our digestive system sees it as already being processed and the protein peptides are able to be absorbed directly. Now, consuming a protein that is not a high quality hydrolyzed protein, we have to break down the protein by enzymes and bacteria in our digestive system which is not controlled. Because this process is not controlled, ie; the enzymes and bacteria keep breaking down the protein until you end up with the individual amino acids, you don’t know what beneficial peptides, if any, are going to be absorbed into your body. It's a hit and miss type situation. You might get the whole spectrum of all the amino acids, which will help a little with recovery and muscle growth, but not to the extent of that if you were to get all of the bio-active peptides, which is all of the amino acids already made up into the building blocks, directly involved in recovery and muscle growth. Think of it this way: You are building a house. Is the house going to be built faster by individually making each brick out of sand and mortar, or having them ready made sent straight from the factory. It is logic to think that consuming a protein like HP-100 more frequently is going to be more beneficial for health, recovery and muscle growth than having a slower digesting protein that is going to sit in your gut between 4-8 hours just rotting away. Definition: The process in which bacteria break down
organic material such as protein is called 'rotting'. Flatulence and bloating after consuming a protein drink is caused by
the protein ‘rotting’ in your digestive system. So if you
don’t want to look like you have a ‘beer belly’ or ‘fart
like a trooper’, consume HP-100 two to three times a day. Q: I went to the health food shop the other week and was reading some of the labels on the protein supplements. Some of the claims on these products are out of this world! I had to buy one. I was using HP-100 and had run out. The one I brought was a mixture of proteins including 100% hydrolyzed whey isolate with zero carbs and zero fat and was half the price of HP-100. What a bargain I thought. Then after a couple of weeks of using it I gave it away and brought myself another tub of HP-100. With the other protein I went backwards, I lost size and put on fat. My question is how can other companies make such claims like zero carbs, zero fat and it has all these wonderful extras added into it giving you super muscle growth?A: If you were a sports supplement company and had a cheap nasty product that you wanted to sell heaps of to make a quick buck, then I am sure you would be able to find some loop holes in the laws regarding labelling to help deceive the consumer in buying your product. Saying a product has zero carbs and zero fat sounds good until you have the product tested! It is impossible to have a flavoured product with zero carbs and zero fat. The flavouring has to have some sort of fat or carb content. Hidden ‘carbs’ like that of Glycerine, a sugar alcohol, which has a calorie content higher than protein and carbs is another ingredient that falls into the labelling loop holes. And there are lots of others. An example of a deceitful product would be using ‘wheat protein’ aka ‘flour’ aka ‘gluten’ as flavouring in your protein product. There are no laws on how much flavouring you can use and it is listed on the label after the ingredients. You could label it as a 100% whey protein isolate, with only a small amount being whey protein isolate and the rest ‘wheat protein’. On analysis of the product, the protein content will be still high because of the ‘wheat protein’ content, except wheat protein is of poor biological value and useless compared to other proteins. But it is very cheap compared to any other protein. Just think how much a bag of flour is at the supermarket. No wonder they can sell this stuff in buckets. You think you are buying a high protein whey supplement, when in reality it is a very low biological protein. Another example is using ‘skim milk powder’ in the protein and calling it Calcium Caseinate. Remember a protein is classified as a chain of amino acids linked together. How they are arranged in that chain depends on how beneficial they are to the human body. A lot of companies use inferior or poor quality proteins, which is made up of useless chains. Even though, being not beneficial for human health, the companies use these proteins to manipulate the labelling so that they can bump up the protein content of the supplement, making it sound really good at a cheap price. In reality it is just a low quality product that keeps your bowels working overtime! Back to TopQ: A lot of companies are bringing out ‘time release protein’. When can we expect ASN to bring out such a protein?A: In a simple
answer, NEVER! Time Release protein is a marketing gimmick.
Back to TopQ: I have been using HP100 for a few months now and I have achieved some exellent muscle gains which I have not achieved with any other proteins. I saw an advertisement for your HP100 that you can win $10,000. How do I win?A: Yes, we do have $10,000 prize money up for grabs, but you cannot win it unless you are another sports supplement company. The offer is that ASN – Advanced Sports Nutrition will pay $10,000 cash to any Sports Nutrition Company that can scientifically prove that their protein is more effective for building muscle than HP-100, 100% Hydrolyzed Whey Peptide Isolate. The reason why we are doing this is because there are so many companies out there that provide you with a lot of hype in regards to their protein, but none are willing to put there money where their mouth is. At ASN Advanced Sports Nutrition we are! Have you ever heard people say, ‘all proteins are the same'. Well this is far from the truth. Protein from manufacturers comes in all different grades, textures and processing. You can get a really cheap whey protein isolate that has gone through minimum processing right up to the top of the range fully hydrolyzed whey peptide isolates like that of the HP-100. But on all of the labels they say Whey Protein Isolate. So how can you tell which one is better? You cannot tell unless you actually buy and use the protein and lose your money. Another way to tell, without wasting any money is to look for a company that offers assurances such as 100% purity, potency and quality with a money back guarantee. Even going as far as having a stamp on the label specifying this. If your protein product that you are purchasing does not have this guarantee, that means the company is not confident in their protein in giving you the desired results. Obviously they are driven by profits and nothing else. HP-100 has all these guarantees, and that's why we are confident enough to offer $10,000 to any other sports supplement company to prove they have a higher grade protein that provides more effective muscle building than HP-100. Back to TopQ: Is HP-100 able to be consumed by Vegetarians?A: Yes, HP-100
can be consumed by vegetarians. How is that you may ask? Isn't HP-100
made from whey protein, which comes from milk, a dairy product? Even though
HP-100 uses whey protein as a base, because of the processing it goes
through, there is no characteristic of dairy left in the finished product.
We could achieve this using soy or rice protein as a base, but whey protein
has the best amino acid profile of any other protein, plus it has specific
'biological' growth and immune factors which are beneficial for muscle
growth and our health.
Back to TopQ: What's the difference between Degree of Hydrolysis and Percentage of Hydrolysis in regards to protein and how do these relate to the performance of the protein?A: Hydrolysis
is the breakdown of a chemical linkage between units of complex molecules
to yeild smaller molecules. This involves enzymes called Hydrolases
with the addition of water, which catalizes the reaction of the breakdown
of the complex molecule. The hydrolases used in the breakdown of protein
are called proteases. In the production of making peptide isolated protein
the proteases used in the manufacture are identical with the same enzymes
we produce in our digestive system to breakdown protein. The difference
is the manufactured method is all controlled where as in our digestive
system it is not. This is where the terms, Degree of Hydrolysis- ( DH
) and Percentage of Hydrolysis- ( % Hydrolyzed ) come from as this is
the measurement of the methods used in the contolled process of manufacturing
protein. Back to Top
